In the first half of 2016 the leading Polish sea ports (Gdańsk, Gdynia, Szczecin and Świnoujście) registered an increase of 39.28 m tonnes (+2.3%) in cargo handled, marking a record result for the sector.

The report includes an analysis of a series of multidirectional changes in the individual cargo categories, such as coal and coke, ore, grain or general cargo as well as the developments in the ro-ro and ferry markets. The changes among the cargo groups are the driving factor behind the overall positive results.

The paper, prepared by the team of experts from the consulting department at Actia Forum, proves the continuation of an overall positive tendency regarding the overall turnover volume and the recovery of the container market, regarded in view of the planned investments and developments projects by the terminals as an important signal for an upcoming stable trend.
