The evaluation of social and economic effects for Poland from implementation of NECA on the Baltic Sea

One of the main challenge for shipping companies operating on the Baltic Sea are the currently applicable or planned environmental regulations, including expected implementation of the Nitrogen Emission Control Area (NECA). Detailed investigation of costs and benefits from the regulation should be therefore regarded as crucial for Polish Ministry of Infrastructure & Development, so team of experts from Actia Forum has prepared relevant evaluation report. It includes detailed assessment of the costs of installation and operation of treatment systems (EGR, SCR) on the vessels, with special focus on the Polish fleet. On the other hand, benefits for environment and human health resulting from NECA establishment has been identified and evaluated.
